Dad-a Ning Mga Binhi (Bring These Seeds) – September 7, 2016

The performance is part of the project “When Myths Meet” which is an exploration about the meaning, making and sharing of myths in the present day. The mythical creature Tuminongnong from the Philippines wandered at the University of the Arts Helsinki’s opening ceremony at Kiasma and offered something for everybody.

The Minotaur is spending time at the amazing FLOW festival! The best way to relate to this mythical creature is to join him in a game. Today the Minotaur is drawing labyrinths all over the FLOW territory.  Track down 3 labyrinths and take a selfie with them, and the Minotaur will reward you with a price.

The Minotaur had a suitcase full of candy today. Tuminongnong handed out coffee, but nobody wanted to accept his tempting offer…

The sun was up as the myths appeared today. Must have been a pleasant day for them as well: they built small installations and gave out some candies.

As for the passers-by, the task was to document the kind of gazes and reaction they (passers-by) gave to the entities. Adjective were utilized as qualitative data.

Today was drizzling. Good thing the mythical entities still appeared. The task was to  count the gazes the entities (and the Researcher, as well) got from the people passers-by. Gazes are counted even if people don’t necessarily react to the entities but as long as the Researcher perceived that the passer-by has the mythical creature inside his/or her eye span.

The Minotaur – 164 gazes

The  Tuminongnong – 96 gazes
